  1.   The key to choosing any fragrance is really not whether the perfumer decided to put for men or for women on the label but how that fragrance reacts with your body chemistry. If people react in a positive way then you should continue to use the fragrance. If it agrees with your chemistry and you get compliments wear it by all means. Some of my female customers will choose certain men’s fragrances without hesitation and without even sampling the women’s version. They do it because they love the way that the fragrance smells when they apply it.

Male customers are less likely to cross over to wearing a fragrance designated for women and in many instances the fragrances are too flowery for me to consider wearing. Women and men both prefer male fragrances to smell masculine. All of the natural fragrances such as Egyptian musk, China Musk, African musk, Blue Nile, and White Musk are excellent unisex fragrances. The typical unisex fragrance is not quite as sweet as the typical woman’s fragrance but will have a stronger aroma then the men’s version. It will probably have a strong citrus first note and a small floral signature.

So if you happen to try a fragrance which is labeled as belong to the opposite sex, try it and see if it works with your particular body chemistry before you pass judgement. Don’t allow yourself to be locked into a box by what you perceive others will say or think. Your first duty is to please yourself. If the fragrance that you use gives you a persona which separates you from everyone else you should use it.

You can also mix fragrances to produce your own personal scent. What image do you want to create? Remember that the impression that your fragrance makes on others will likely be a lasting impression. Also consider the time of year and day that you want to wear the fragrance and the type of people that you plan to interact with when you are wearing it.  I have a wonderful unisex fragrance which I created which I call divine inspiration. It is my own blend of a base with a woman’s scent. It produces a unisex fragrance which about eight of ten of my female customers love along with about six of ten of my male customers. This is my own signature fragrance but I also sell it to the public. I have sampled many of the unisex fragrances over the years and I have to say that the perfumers who created them really knew what they were doing. They have put in just the right mix of ingredients to produce the desired effect. If you have never used

you should certainly give it a try. You may even want to try one or two scented oil fragrances which were made for the opposite sex if they appeal to your liking.
