  1. The main thing to consider when you choose a perfume or cologne to wear is the time of year in which you plan on wearing it. Time of day is impotant also. The fragrance oil that I would wear to impress a date is different from what I would wear to a formal or semiformal social event.

The end result of using fragrance is to have a positive effect on the psyche of all of those who come into contact with you.  Perfumes and colognes were originally worn as aphrodisiacs so you should keep this in mind when you make your decision. Another major consideration that you should take into account is the style of clothing that you will wear at the time that you wear the fragrance. The image that the fragrance portrays of you should be synchronized with the clothing that you wear, the way you behave, and the way that you move and act.
Fragrances are used to affect mood, appetite, sexual desire, and to provoke pleasant memories in the mind of the person who experiences its fragrance.

Different categories of fragrances will produce different effects. Floral fragrances mimic the scent of natural odors from flora. These are traditionally good spring and fall weather fragrances. They can be totally natural or they may be enhanced by adding some other compound.

Fruity fragrances are normally used in different combinations to produce a light effect. They are normally added to the perfume oil when the fragrance is being created in varying amounts but they are sometimes worn the way that they exist. Fruity fragrances are used more as air fresheners but they are always used in various combinations in actual perfume and cologne fragrances.

Oriental fragrances are the vanilla and oak moss type aromas, they are dark and have a very heavy scent. They are used in nighttime and cool weather fragrance oils.

Woody and Fougere fragrances are traditionally masculine fragrances with heavy scents and are used more in men’s colognes but also in some instances to create women’s perfumes depending on the effect that the perfumer is seeking to create.

As you can see there are many varying factors involved in the creation, production, manufacture, and use of fragrance. You should consider all of these factors when you choose the fragrance that you intend to wear. There is no incorrect choice here but there may be choices that are better than others. You are only limited by your imigination when you use fragrance perfume and cologne oils.
