  1. All natural oils can be called essential in the sense that their fragrance comes from the very material that they are made of. Whenever you smell a fragrance you actually smell the product or material itself. There are many different types of essential oils which exist naturally but there are many more fragrance oils.

Essential oils are totally natural in that they are the essence of plant parts. Fragrance oils are created in a wide variety of ways and using many different techniques. Many fragrances are synthetic or produced by chemicals. Fragrance oils may be a natural combination of materials, they may be partially natural, or they may be fully synthetic. In either case they can be enhanced to smell even better that the essential oils that they are created to replace.

Carrier oils which we use as massage oils normally have natural therapeutic effects and can be used to heal or cure a number of maladies. Carrier oils are another class of natural oil but I personally just lump them in the same class as essential oils. The biggesr enefit of using these carrier oils for massage is that they treat the skin for various conditions. You get a double benefit from their use. you get the benefit of massage along with the extra health related benefits that they offer.

You can mix just a little bit of scented oil into your carrier oil before massage in order to get a special effect. Egyptian musk is an excellent scent to use in this regard.

If you are looking for a product to help you maintain good health or to help overcome an ailment or illness then carrier oils are your best buy. Remember when you buy massage oils that you need to use them over a period of time in order to get the most benefit from their therapeutic properties.  Apply them once or twice daily in order to take the maximum advantage of their theraputic properties.
